Iran named responsible for assassination of nuclear physicist

The Israeli government and the Israeli intelligence service “Mossad” are involved in the murder of nuclear physicist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh. This was stated by the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran Ali Shamkhani, speaking at the funeral of the scientist. Associated Press reports citing local television.

He said that the elimination of the physicist was a technically difficult operation: the performers controlled the weapon remotely, using satellite communications, and were not present at the scene of the attack. However, according to Shamkhani, the investigation was able to identify those responsible for the attack, and they are associated with the Jewish state.

The politician stressed that the assassination of Fakhrizadeh will only unite the inhabitants of the Islamic Republic, and his work will continue – “even faster and stronger”.

Fakhrizadeh headed the research and innovation department of the Iranian Defense Ministry and was one of the founders of the country’s nuclear program. On Friday, November 27, it turned out that he became a victim of a terrorist attack in the populated point Absard near Tehran. First, a suicide bomber was blown up there, then the scientist’s car was fired upon.

The next day, the American special services accused Israel of the murder of Fakhrizade. At the same time, it is unclear whether the United States was aware of the impending operation to eliminate the researcher. The White House and the CIA declined to comment on the matter. The commander-in-chief of the Iranian army, Seyed Abdol-Rahim Mousavi, called Israel and the United States involved in the murder of the scientist. The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu does not comment on the situation.
