German virologist Alexander Kekulé named on the air of ZDF TV channel the real cause of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus pandemic. According to the scientist, in Italy, from where the spread of COVID-19 across Europe and around the world began, they did not take the danger of a new infection seriously.
Currently, humanity is dealing with the Italian strain SARS-CoV-2, which dominates the Wuhan variety and originated in the north of the country due to a mutation in the S-protein, which made it more infectious. It is he who is found in more than 99 percent of patients with COVID-19 around the world.
According to Kekule, this situation was caused by the fact that the European authorities and the public did not take the threat seriously and ignored the warnings of scientists about the danger of the virus. As a result, SARS-CoV-2 managed to invisibly spread throughout Italy, mutate and adapt to the human body.
Earlier it was reported that in the organisms of bats that had been lying in freezers in Japan and Cambodia for several years, scientists first discovered coronaviruses related to the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. However, they cannot be transmitted to humans.
