A dog with an abnormally long neck found owners and left shelter

A giraffe-like dog that was abandoned at a shelter due to its unusual appearance has found owners. The Daily Mail reports.

Due to its incredibly long neck and ridiculous appearance, a Spanish greyhound named Ketama was abandoned at a hunting dog shelter. However, the unusual dog was soon taken home by a couple from the Netherlands, 30-year-old Monique Morsink and her partner Martijn ten Voorde, 31.

In Spain, where the Spanish Greyhound breed was bred, they are treated very cruelly. “If a dog is not beautiful enough or not suitable for hunting, it is killed or abandoned,” said Morsink.

The hostess noted that Ketama is very kind and intelligent. She is always ready to help people. Like all dogs, she is very playful and requires a lot of attention. The neck, which is 25 centimeters long, does not give Ketama any discomfort.

During a walk, the owners put on a special collar on their pet, since without it Ketama can easily throw off the collar and run away. The dog often catches the surprised looks of passers-by, but its owners are used to not paying attention to it.

Morsink hopes that Ketama’s unusual appearance will help raise public awareness of the abuse of Spanish greyhounds.

Earlier it was reported that a puppy was born on the Italian island of Sardinia with green wool. This happens when light-colored puppies come into contact in the womb with a green bile pigment called biliverdin. As a result, their coat acquires a characteristic shade.
