The action adventure game, in addition to the main prize, won the nominations for “Best PlayStation Game”, “Best Story”, “Best Visual Design” and “Best Soundtrack”. The authors of the title – Naughty Dog – were noted as the main studio of 2020. Fall Guys, Hades and Minecraft each received two awards. In particular, Fall Guys was named the best multiplayer game and the best family game.
Ori and the Will of the Wisps were named the best Xbox title at the event, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare was named the best esports game. Among Us was named the Breakthrough of the Year, and Minecraft received the award for supporting the project. Also during the presentation, the manufacturer of the video card Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 was awarded in the category “Best Hardware”, the Worms series and its development studio Team17 were included in the Joystick Awards Hall of Fame.
The Last of Us Part II was released on June 19, 2020. The game has become exclusive to the PlayStation 4.
