Ukraine has created a virtual cemetery for Ukrainians buried abroad

The Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance, in cooperation with the “Heroica” charity foundation, has created an information system “Virtual necropolis of the Ukrainian emigration” – a virtual cemetery for Ukrainians buried abroad. The Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine Alexander announced this on his page in Facebook Tkachenko.

“A map with a database allows you to find information in a simple way and for free that is needed not only to understand the number of necropolises, but also so that it can be structured and systematized by any state body, foreign organization, or just a Ukrainian or citizen of another country” , – he wrote.

Tkachenko clarified that site visitors will be able to find information about the grave of a certain person by name and surname, by date or place of birth or death for free. You can also see the location of graves or a specific cemetery on the map.

The site contains biographical information, coordinates and photos of graves, information about the state of burial places of Ukrainian artists, diplomats and other people.

November 20 it was reported that more than 90 percent were employed in Nizhny Tagil burial sites, and the city was virtually left without empty places in cemeteries. To solve the problem, local authorities started looking for new places for the dead
