Scientists marveled at vitality of coronavirus particles

Scientists from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay marveled at the survivability of the coronavirus particles. They published their research in the journal Physics of Fluids.

According to experts, the virus can remain active on various surfaces for several days. Scientists note that in a few minutes, 99.9 percent of the liquid from the respiratory secretions evaporates, but thanks to the microscopic film formed, the particles of the coronavirus can survive. The study authors also stated that coronavirus can persist for more than 150 hours on some surfaces, such as polypropylene.

Earlier, scientists at the University of Geneva in Switzerland found drugs that can block penetration into cells of viruses such as SARS-CoV-2. These inhibitors are five thousand times more effective than those currently used.
