Hyenas attacked a sleeping man at home and ate him

In the city of Mwuma, Zimbabwe, a flock of hyenas attacked a sleeping man at home and ate him alive, reports CNN, citing sources.

The attack took place on Monday night, November 16, in the rural area of Chirumanzu. 87-year-old Tendai Maseka was alone in the hut when a flock of predators attacked him, said environmental spokesman Tinashe Faravo in an interview with CNN .

The hyenas dragged Masek about 300 meters from his home and ate it. The murder of an elderly man is suspected by the same flock of hyenas that recently attacked cattle and goats in the Chirumanzu area.

Masek was buried on Thursday, November 19. Foresters are already hunting dangerous predators. Locals were urged to remain vigilant, go outside only during daylight hours and keep the doors and windows of their homes closed.

Faravo stressed that this is the 60th case of fatal animal attack on humans in Zimbabwe in 2020. According to him, the dry season has come in the country, so attacks have become more frequent: animals began to come to residential areas in search of food and water.

In May, in the South African Kruger National Park, a hyena kidnapped the prey of a hieroglyphic python on the eyes of tourists. The author of the video claims that in 13 years of work in the park, he has never seen anything like it.
