Ukraine wants to receive eight million doses of coronavirus vaccine

The Ukrainian authorities wanted to receive more than eight million doses of the future vaccine against coronavirus. This was announced on November 24 by the President Vladimir Zelensky , reports ” Interfax – Ukraine”.

According to him, Ministry of Health held negotiations with representatives of COVAX and determined a phased vaccine delivery plan. “The first stage – 1.2 million doses. In general, Ukraine expects to receive more than eight million doses of the future vaccine,” Zelensky said.

During vaccination, the priority will be given to doctors, military men, teachers, people over 60 years old, the head of state assured.

Previously, the chief sanitary doctor of Ukraine Viktor Lyashko reported that one dose of the coronavirus vaccine will cost seven dollars. Since each person needs two injections of the drug, the vaccine will cost $ 14.

COVAX is an international project created by WHO in cooperation with the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI) and the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovation. The goal of the project is to provide the participating countries with two billion doses of vaccine by the end of the year.
