VTB said that he was subjected to cyber attack, which became the strongest for the entire time of the bank. The financial organization concluded that the attack is planned in nature, and its source is abroad.
Bank systems operate normally. Clients data are protected from external intervention, they are in the internal perimeter of the bank’s technological infrastructure, representatives of the financial organization said.
During the confrontation between the actions of hackers attacking the external contour of the bank systems, experts do everything necessary and possible so that customers do not feel discomfort in the use of services.
VTB representatives warned customers that when using the anti-Mer, temporary difficulties may arise in the performance of banking applications and VTB online web versions.
“Analysis of the DDOS attack indicates that it is planned and large -scale. Its goal is to cause inconvenience to bank customers, implicating the work of banking services,” the bank’s press service said.
Analysis of the attack showed that it is performed mainly from abroad. However, malicious traffic was recorded, including from Russian IP addresses.
Probably, some of these Russian addresses could be among the participants in the attack as a result of cyber abuse. Representatives of the bank will transfer all the established Russian IP addresses to law enforcement agencies for the audit.
