Doubly gourmet Christmas with François-Régis Gaudry on France Inter et Paris Première

For the end of year celebrations, François-Régis Gaudry takes care of his listeners with two programs as delicious as hear.

As usual, it’s tasty and learned. As usual, he is attentive, putting his guests at ease, generously making the dishes turn and circulating the floor, watching for the grain and that everyone has his say, a plate and a drink in front him. Because, as he says, “it may be radio, but it’s more user-friendly”.

And friendly and generous, that is: after spending eleven seasons listening to it, we wanted to see on the other side of the mirror and dishes, so it’s at the house 611 of the house of the radio and the music that we find François-Régis Gaudry and his team.

On the menu of this day, “a gentle Christmas”, with guests Christophe Felder and Camille Lesecq, authors of the very beautiful Christmas of pastry chefs (Editions de la Martinière, 256 pages, 35 euros). François-Régis Gaudry welcomes his guests, the eye does not even tired, and this while he also officiates in Paris Première (“very very good”, who has just celebrated his 10th anniversary), prepares an exhibition for the little onions at the Conciergerie (in Paris, in spring 2023) and promotes his book (we will taste Paris, Marabout, 448 pages, 42.90 euros).

tasting and anecdotes

He explains the course of the show to them, which begins with a blind tasting – a hemp -raised ganache as Justine Knapp, new columnist for the program, both discreet and relevant, which will make , later and in a beautiful clear voice, the praise of a Macvin. While, with a certain taste of the anecdote, Christophe Felder remembers his father’s recipes -often and at the same time economical and copiously watered -, Camille Lesecq evokes her past noëls to lend a hand in the pastry of his Uncle in Paris, where the wonderful odors of pastries are at the origin of his vocation.

Regularly, the young historian Loïc Bienassis comes to recall or illuminate certain desserts: thus gingerbread, which Camille Lesecq gives us a renowned recipe: moreover, we taste without daring too much, before s ‘Give it to their heart to joy as it is tasty.

tasty, the program is also thanks to the work of implementation and the archives. And archives will be discussed in the program of December 25 since it is devoted to “Curnonsky, the Prince of Gastronomes” on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of his birth. A great storytelling of stories, François-Régis Gaudry revives this “gastronomade” Angevin who said: “I am not going to the restaurant to eat the curtains.”

It is culturally delightful and we say to ourselves that it is perhaps from him that François-Régis Gaudry holds his taste for the puns: “I read a lot Curnonsky”, admits the host without difficulty , with a malicious smile.
