IPTABles package filter production 1.8.9

published Classical tools for managing the package filter Iptables 1.8.9 , the development of which has recently been concentrated on components to maintain reverse compatibility-Iptables-NFT and EBTables-NFT providing utilities with the same command line syntax as in IPTables and Ebtables, but broadcast the obtained rules into the NFTABALES bytcode. The original set of IPTABles programs, including IP6Tables, Arptables and Ebtables, was transferred to the category of obsolete in 2018 and has already been replaced by NFTables in most distributions.

in the new version:

  • The ARPTABLES-NFT utility “–Exact” has been added to output information about the number of packages and traffic in a detailed representation without bringing to kilobytes, megabytes, etc.
  • Added assembly option –enable-proprilling, implemented in the process of preparing for support for GCOV/GPROF.
  • In the expansion of SCTP, support for additional types of chunKs is added.
  • The IP6TABLES has a display of the line ‘-‘ in the column ‘OPT’ to comply with the behavior of iptables.
  • Information displayed in error messages during the failures of the IPTables-NFT-Rustore.
  • Ebtables-NFT added the option ‘-p length’.
  • All extensions for working with NAT are collected in one separated file (DSO, Dynamic Shared Object).
  • Ebotables-Translate utility is provided.
