“Majidreza Rahnavard, who was sentenced to death on November 29 for the stabbing assassination of two security agents and having injured 4 others” was executed in public in Machhad, specifies Mizan, the agency of the country’s judicial authority.

Images broadcast on state television showed a man chasing another at the corner of a street, then standing above him and stabbing him after he fell against a parked motorcycle. The aggressor, who, according to state television, was Mr.rahnavard, would then have fled.

The Mizan agency press release provided no reason for Mr.rahnavard’s alleged attack. On the other hand, he accuses him of having tried to flee to a foreign country.

Iran executed his first prisoner held during demonstrations last Thursday, Mohsen Shekari. At least a dozen people have already been sentenced to death during hearing in camera.
