A plan obsesses the People’s Army of Liberation (APL) in China, on which she trains daily: “The joint attack campaign of the island”, intended to take Taiwan. This “highly centralized plan is updated regularly”, suggesting that the invasion envisaged by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is “inevitable”, says Ian Easton. This American expert in Project 2049 Institute in Virginia analyzed hundreds of APL internal documents and shared their content in a book, The Chinese Invasion Threat: Taiwan’s Defense and American Strategy in Asia (“The threat of Chinese invasion : Taiwan’s defense and American strategy in Asia “, Eastbridge Books, 2019, not translated).
Between 1949 and 1950, Mao Zedong had asked his generals to prepare for the worst, namely an American military intervention with Taiwan. Today, Beijing expects the Taiwanese “separatist enemies” to oppose formidable resistance. “APL officers are warned that only a massive and masterful military campaign will allow them to take Taiwan. The operation will be extremely difficult. An prolonged and bloody fight is expected,” said Ian Easton. In the press of Chinese military medicine, we read: “The units will be exposed to horrible carnage scenes, deafening bombing and ferocious fights.”

The APL plans to hire between 300,000 and 1 million soldiers. The plan includes three main phases extending over two weeks, at most, before taking Taipei.
Phase 1 – Blocus and bombing – will be preceded by cyber attacks targeting the Internet and Taiwanese government communications. Electronic war units, based in China, will attack American satellites positioned above the Pacific. The blockade will be total: naval, air, space. And the missiles of the force of the rockets, one of the five branches of the APL, will immediately have to obtain what Moscow missed in Ukraine: the mastery of the sky.
The APL provides “initial strikes”, followed by “key points” (ministries, military generals, electrical networks etc.), “continuous strikes” throughout the territory and “strikes Finals “supposed to annihilate the ability to fight Taiwanese. All infrastructure will have to be destroyed, even airports, “to terrorize the island until submission”. This first phase must be carried out very quickly so as not to allow time to the United States and other countries to go to war.
