A thick fog has deflected the President of the Republic’s plane for fifty kilometers, Friday, November 25. Emmanuel Macron landed in Dole (Jura), before joining Dijon, where, on the occasion of International Day for the elimination of violence against women, he had come to revive the “great cause” renewed under This second five -year term. An emergency, we whispered in the presidential camp. Five years after the #MeToo movement, tens of thousands of people demonstrated, on November 19, against “the impunity of aggressors”, while more than 120 women have been committed in France since the start of the year.

This visit, however, took place in a heavy atmosphere, less than twenty-four hours after the announcement by the National Financial Public Prosecutor’s Office (PNF) of the opening of two judicial information in connection with the financing of its campaigns in 2017 and 2022. Emmanuel Macron wanted to kill the criticisms, certainly timid, of his opponents in the egg. “I am not afraid,” he reacted to the cameras, adding that “many political attacks” targeted the American consulting firm McKinsey.

“I want justice to do its job in a normal way (…). Some would like to politicize it,” he said, saying that “the heart of the investigation” does not aim. The tone, more placid than combative, contrasts with that of its last visit to Côte-d’Or, in the countryside. “We must not mix everything,” he annoyed himself by defending the use of consulting firms. This time, he conceded that “everything that was said around McKinsey shocked many of us”. “He knows that it will last, leafy, but in the end, there will be nothing”, defends him François Patriat, senator of the Côte-d’Or.

On the subject of the day, no political breath effect. As soon as they arrived in Dijon, the Minister of Justice, Eric Dupond-Moretti, had to leave for the Senate. That of the interior, Gérald Darmanin, was retained in Brussels. Only Isabelle Rome, Minister Delegate for Equality between Women and Men, accompanied the Head of State, without saying. Spontaneously, Mr. Macron did not quote the historical vote for the inscription of the right to abortion in the Constitution, nor the fight of Iranian women for their freedoms – questioned, he nevertheless praised a “revolution for universalism “In Iran and described as” essential “women to have their bodies. 2>
