The CAP of nine months of war was crossed on Thursday, November 24, for the “special military operation” in Ukraine, presented at the start by Moscow propaganda as before lasting three days. The main objective was then the conquest of the capital, kyiv, and the reversal of Ukrainian power. Other offensives aimed at Kharkiv, in the North, and the Côtes de la Mer Noire, from Marioupol to Odessa, in the South, as well as the Donbass eastern region, already partially occupied by Russia since 2014.

After nine months of conflict, the return of negative temperatures makes the scene of clashes on February 24 look like the clashes, with the difference that Russian troops are now in a defensive position on most of the front, a thousand kilometers. The failure of the assault on kyiv from the first weeks of war, followed by victorious Ukrainian counter-offensives, this fall, in the regions of Kharkiv (North) and Kherson (South), placed the Russian army in a Very delicate situation on the ground.

Always at the offensive, the Ukrainian army has launched an attack on the Russian positions around the city of Kreminna, in the Louhansk region (Donbass), in a new effort – unsuccessful so far for several days. – to cut a large supply line. Ukrainian authorities recognize a slow advance, slowed down by weather conditions, rain and mud. At the same time, the special forces try to take a foothold on the left bank of the DNIEPR in the islands and the marshes that make up the arrow of Kinbourn, a strategic peninsula on the Crimea road annexed in 2014 by Russia. A fight from which no verifiable information can happen. 2> “very flexible line”

After his forced withdrawal from Kherson and the right bank of the DNIEPR, the Russian army redeployed part of its forces on the eastern part of the front, in the regions of Zaporijia and Donbass. In the offensive position on a diagonal of 140 kilometers between Bilohorivka in the north and Marïnka to the south, the Russian troops have pursued their assaults in the spring, nibbling very slowly on the ground.

In the province of Donetsk, these forces, composed of the regular army, new mobilized and mercenaries of the private militia Wagner, have also multiplied operations for several months. The attacks are mainly concentrated in the sector of the cities of Bakhmout and Avdiïvka.
