But did Orelsan really need that? Its fourth and remarkable album, civilization, published in November 2021, was certified diamond disk, or 500,000 copies sold in just a few months.
Friday at midnight, the rapper, however, published a final edition, adding ten new songs not selected for the first version. Funny idea than making drawer funds, at the risk of distorting a well -tied and acclaimed project. Proof of this success: two of his concerts (out of three) at La Défense Arena de Paris, from December 8 to 10, are complete, with more than 40,000 spectators for each date.
Enivaged by the success of the second season of the documentary series never shows that to anyone, broadcast on Amazon Prime Video and produced by his brother, Clément Contentin, who unveils the factory of this disc and emphasizes his failed, Orelsan may have wanted to add sound to the images. Orelsan seems to be pleased to sabotage itself, to paint more “Beauf” than it is in, for example, Ah France … To wash your ears, we listen to manifest, with a fine and sarcastic text, and intoxicating it the smell of essence. Even the duo with Angèle, obviously, which had not been recorded in time to appear on the first version, falls like a hair on the soup – but no doubt its presence would not have been happier on civilization.
The “Private Joke” certainly works for Orelsan fans who watched the series, but not for others, who are not subscribed to Amazon Prime Video, who make fun of the factory secrets and who want to keep in Memory An album as they discovered, appreciated and listened to. This ultimate edition is therefore very annoying. It is not necessarily good to bring out what was thrown in the trash, even to make everyone laugh.
