Mozilla’s Firefox introduces VPN to block intrusive pop-up ads

Mozilla has faced backlash from users and website owners alike for its latest built-in feature in Firefox. The feature, known as the Mozilla VPN, was regalized in the form of a pop-up window that covers the contents of arbitrary open tabs and the advertising unit of the blocking work with the current page.

However, after a wave of discontent among users expressing that the intrusive method of promoting their services interfered with their work in the browser, Mozilla disabled the feature. In complaints sent by users, they emphasized the inadmissibility of such a method that made it difficult to work in the browser. Meanwhile, website owners expressed their frustration with inexperienced users creating the impression that the site displayed intrusive advertising, instead of the browser substituting it.

An image attached to the bug report showcased what the feature looked like before its removal. In response to the backlash, Mozilla has taken further steps to address user feedback and ensure a better experience for its users in the future.
