The release of 4Mlinux 43.0 has been presented, a minimalist user distribution that stands independently from other projects and utilizes the JWM graphic environment as its foundation. 4Mlinux serves not only as a Live-bootable system for multimedia playback and user problem-solving, but also functions as a recovery system in the event of failures and as a platform for launching LAMP servers (Linux, Apache, Mariadb, and PHP).
Three live-image versions (x86_64) have been prepared for loading: a graphic environment version (1.2 GB), a server systems version (1.3 GB), and a cut environment version (14 MB). These versions can be accessed through the provided links.
In this new version, the following packages have been updated: Linux 6.1.33, Mesa 23.1.1, Libreoffice 7.5.5, Abiword 3.0.5, Gimp 2.110.34, Gnumeric 1.112.55, Firefox 115.0.2, Chrome 115.0.5790.110, Thunderbird 115.0.1, Audacious 4.3.1, VLC 3.0.18, SMPlayer 23.6.0, and Wine 8.12.
The server assembly now includes Apache HTTPD 2.4.57, Mariadb 10.6.14, PHP 5.6.40, PHP 7.4.33, PHP 8.1.19, Perl 5.36.0, Python 3.11.3, and Ruby 3.1.4.
The additional packages in this release include a Soundfonts set for the sound synthesizer FluidSynth
