Vivaldi Browser Launches 6.2 for PC & Android

Browser release Vivaldi 6.2 took place for desktop and Android. Vivaldi 6.2 builds were prepared for Linux, Windows, Android, and MacOS. The changes were made to the Chromium code base, which the project distributes under an open license. The browser interface is written in JavaScript using the React library, Node.js, Browserify, and various ready-made NPM modules. However, the implementation of the interface is available in the original texts but under the proprietary license.

The browser is developed by the former Opera Presto developers with the aim of creating a custom and functional browser that prioritizes user data privacy. Its main features include a lock and ad blocker, note managers, history and bookmarks, private browsing mode, end-to-end encryption for synchronization, grouped tab layout mode, side panel, configurator with a wide range of settings, horizontal tab display mode, and experimental built-in email client, RSS reader, and calendar.

In the new version, the developers made significant efforts to optimize the code, resulting in a significant speed boost for the browser. The new desktop version integrated the API portals React, which accelerated the opening of new windows by 37% compared to the previous version of the browser and 64% compared to the 2018 Vivaldi browser. These tests were carried out on a clean profile using a car with a 2GHz Intel Core i3 processor. The browser developers have high hopes for this technology and plan to utilize it to speed up other components and functions of the browser, further enhancing the browsing experience for users.

Additionally, the new version of Vivaldi introduces the ability to edit the drop-down list of suggested URLs, allowing users to set priorities for the suggestions themselves.
