Intel Joins CentOS Stream Development

Red Hat welcomed Intel’s connection to the development of CentOS Stream, a distribution aimed at overseeing issues related to processor architectures, instruction sets, virtualization, and infrastructure solutions. Intel has joined the working groups of CentOS Stream, and it is expected that this collaboration will enhance the efficiency of supporting the latest hardware architectures. Additionally, it will increase the productivity of Red Hat products on Intel processors and enable the support of Intel technologies, such as Quickassist Technology (Qat), in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) (source).

At the Innovation 2023 conference, Intel mentioned its cooperation with Red Hat, Canonical, and Suse in optimizing distribution performance for new Intel processors. This collaboration aims to enhance the overall performance of Linux distributions on Intel hardware (source).
