Fheroes2 Launches Open-Source Heroes of Might and Magic 2 Engine

Available now is Fheroes2 1.0.2, a recreated game engine for Heroes of Might and Magic II. The project was built from scratch using C++ and is distributed under GPLV2 license. Gamers must obtain game resources from Heroes of Might and Magic II demo version or the original game to launch it.

The latest update includes new game settings icons, optimized drawing and reduced energy consumption, and AI with the ability to use City Portal spell. Additionally, a virtual keyboard is now available for the engine version for Android, and a portion of the dwelling of the captain was constructed in the city of sorceresses.

Other features in the update include an indication of game duration in the characteristics of the saving file, a display of damage to the cursor to the target in battle, and the fixing of the logic of finding a path in battle and some spells. The update also includes Russian translations, as well as buttons in Russian added to the main menu. Over 60 errors have also been corrected.
