Supreme Court approved five -year term to Kansky teenager for an attempt to explode FSB building in Minecraft

The Supreme Court of the Russian Federation approved a sentence in the form of five years in a colony for a 16-year-old citizen Nikita Uvarov.

The young man was accused of teaching terrorist activities to try to explode the FSB building in the game Minecraft. It is reported by Kommersant. The publication notes that criminal liability under this article comes from the age of 14.

Nikita Uvarov said at a meeting of the Supreme Court that he was “not dangerous for society” and that five years of imprisonment is too cruel. The young man also claimed that he repented and did not intend to break the law anymore.

Recall that on February 10, 2022, the First Eastern District Military Court sentenced the three Kansk adolescents who were accused of undergoing training for terrorist activities and the manufacture of explosives.

The leader of the group, 16-year-old Nikita Uvarov, was sentenced to 5 years in a colony and a fine of 30,000 rubles. He was arrested in the courtroom. His two comrades were exempted from criminal liability, as they helped the investigation. For the manufacture of explosives, they received conditional terms (3 and 4 years).
