Deepin 25.2 Launches with Unique Graphical Environment

Deepin has announced the release of version 25.2 of its distribution kit, which includes the Deepin Desktop Environment (DDE) along with about 40 user applications such as Deepin Music, Deepin Movie, and the Deepin Store. Originally founded by a group of developers from China, the project has now become international and even supports the Russian language. The distribution repository boasts over 8,000 packages, with all developments distributed under the GPLv3 license. Bootable iso images are available in sizes of 6.5 GB for various architectures like amd64, arm64, riscv64, and loongarch64.

The desktop components and applications are developed using C/C++ and Go languages, with the graphical interface built using the Qt library. A standout feature of the Deepin desktop is its versatile panel that supports multiple operating modes. The classic mode neatly separates open windows and applications for launch, while displaying the system tray area. The efficient mode is reminiscent of Unity, mixing indicators of running programs, favorite applications, and control applets like volume/brightness settings, clocks, and network status. The program launch interface provides two modes: viewing favorite applications and navigating through the directory of installed programs.
