PhotoGIMP, a project that aims to make the GIMP 3.x graphics editor more user-friendly for those accustomed to Adobe Photoshop, has released a new version. The latest release, available here, includes changes to the settings, menu layout, and toolbars. This update brings expanded font support, new icons, and altered hotkeys. The project code, distributed under the GPLv3 license, can be found here. Users can integrate PhotoGIMP with standard GIMP distribution packages or install it alongside GIMP in Flatpak format.
The new version of PhotoGIMP features improved toolbar element grouping, additional Photoshop-style hotkeys, and the ability to adjust brush size using bracket keys. It also allows users to add alpha channels to imported images and showcases updated icons. These enhancements aim to provide users with a more seamless experience when transitioning from Adobe Photoshop to GIMP.
