Recently, Grafana Labs, the company behind the popular open platform for monitoring and data visualization, revealed that an access token to their GitHub environment was compromised by attackers. The attackers exploited this token to download code from the company’s private repositories for their proprietary products. Subsequently, the attackers attempted to extort money from Grafana Labs by threatening to expose the stolen code. However, the company’s representatives stood firm and refused to comply with the extortion demands.
Grafana Labs assured users that the attackers did not manage to obtain any personal information or user data during the breach. The company is currently conducting an investigation into the incident and plans to release further details once the investigation is concluded.
