IP_TV-Neon 0.8.2 Multi-Model IPTV Orchestrator Debuts

A new version of IP_TV-Neon, a lightweight tool for managing and searching IPTV content, has been released. The project is notable for its use of large language models to navigate channel lists. IP_TV-Neon provides a minimalistic and fast console interface, free of the redundant functionality of standard media centers and optimized for systems with slow disks and older processors (development was carried out on a 2014 iMac running CachyOS). An external mpv player is called for playback. The code is written in Rust and is distributed under the MIT license.

Main changes:

  • Google Gemini support has been added to the existing integration with DeepSeek, which allows the user to select the preferred engine for semantic search and the formation of dynamic playlists based on natural language.
  • An intelligent filtering mechanism has been implemented. The system is capable of processing requests like “find popular science channels with an English soundtrack” or “generate a list of TV channels by rating”, analyzing metadata from local or remote playlists in M3U format.
