Founder and Core developer of the Lutris gaming platform, providing tools to simplify the installation, configuration and management of games on Linux, commented on the adoption of changes generated by large language models into the project code base. The developer said that using AI is only a problem if a person does not know what he is doing, or uses low-quality AI tools.
According to the creator of Lutris, a few months ago, the Claude AI toolkit began to generate quite decent code and thanks to AI, it was possible to do everything that was missed last year due to health problems and depression. He also stated that he had anticipated the potential negativity surrounding AI-generated changes, and so removed references to Claude’s co-authorship from commits a few days ago and wished him luck in trying to determine what was and wasn’t AI-generated.
