DeaDBeeF 1.10.1 Music Player Released

DeadBeeF 1.10.1, the latest version of the music player, has been officially released after nearly a year of development. The player, written in C, has minimal dependencies and is distributed under the Zlib license. Its interface, built using the GTK library, supports tabs and can be expanded through widgets and plugins.

Key features of DeadBeeF 1.10.1 include automatic recoding of text encoding in tags, an equalizer, support for cue files, command line or system tray control, loading and displaying covers, a built-in tag editor, flexible options for displaying required fields in song lists, streaming support for Internet radio, seamless playback mode, and a plugin for transcoding audio files.

The latest release comes with several important changes, including:

  • Transition to a default user interface based on GTK3 (previously GTK2).
  • Support for network broadcasting in FLAC format (Ogg/FLAC).
  • New mode for displaying album covers – “Playing or Selected”.
  • Plugin for displaying lyrics.
  • Support for album art images embedded in OPUS files.
  • Improved handling of damaged AAC, APE, MP3, and WMA files.
  • New interface to manage DSP presets in Settings.
  • Action to open DSP settings.
  • Option to resume paused playback.
  • Mode to stop playback after processing all elements in the queue.
  • Support for side mouse buttons for back and forward navigation.
