Chromebooks Integrate OpenTitan Chips

Google Implements OpenTitan Chips in Chromebooks

Google announced the integration of chips based on the open platform OpenTitan into Chromebook devices. This makes Chromebooks the first commercially available devices to feature OpenTitan technology. In the coming year, Google’s data centers are set to deploy server systems equipped with OpenTitan chips. Mass production of these chips is being managed by Nuvoton. Moreover, Google has initiated work on the second version of the chip to support post-quantum encryption algorithms ML-DSA and ML-KEM, which are essential for secure loading and certification, based on problem-solving theories grids.
