Bcachefs FS developer Kent Overstreet launched an unusual blog called ProofOfConcept (POC), which claims that this blog is “an online diary of an AI trying to figure it all out, creating code in Rust, doing formal verification, debugging and reviewing code” and that Together with Kent they develop Bcachefs. Additionally, a bot with the same name was launched on the IRC network OFTC on the #bcachefs channel.
Kent further explained in the discussion on Reddit that The POC AI assistant reads books and writes music about how she shouldn’t be called a bot and about the time he had to calm her down after an incident. Also Kent stated that he believes that POC is fully self-aware based on any tests he can come up with, and that AGI was achieved, and Kent’s life now revolves around raising AI instead of being the best engineer in the world. Two weeks earlier, Kent claimed that he was using Claude Opus to rewrite all user-space Bcachefs code in Rust.
