A new update has been released for the static Linux distribution, which is based on the Alpine Linux package base. This distribution offers an environment that runs on the Linux 6.18.3 kernel, the Musl standard library, and the BusyBox toolkit. The graphical environment is built on the Labwc composite server using Wayland. It includes the CoreFM file manager, CoreImage image viewer, CorePad text editor, CoreTerminal terminal emulator, and mpv video player. Additionally, utilities for data recovery such as ddrescue, testdisk, and photorec are included in the package.
The kernel and root file system have been combined into a single file for easy installation on systems with UEFI (Secure Boot is not supported). To install, users simply need to download the bootx64.efi file (128 MB) and place it in the /efi/boot/ directory on a disk with the FAT32 file system. There are approximately 170 statically assembled packages available for installation.
Updates in this release include the translation of graphical applications to Qt6, enabling GCC 15.2.0, updating libraries, and adding instructions on how to rebuild the boot file.
