Alt Workstation K 11.2 Distribution Kit Released

An update of the Linux distribution, named “Viola Workstation K 11.2”, is now available. This update offers the KDE desktop environment and is specifically designed for use in office and home settings. The distribution is created for x86_64 architecture and is built on the 11th ALT platform. Users can download an installation ISO image (8.8 GB) and a separate Live assembly (5.4 GB).

Individuals, including individual entrepreneurs, can freely use the downloaded version. However, commercial and government organizations must purchase licenses or enter into licensing agreements for permanent use in their corporate infrastructure.

Some of the key changes in this update include:

  • Update to KDE Plasma 6.4, KDE Gear 25.08, and KDE Frameworks 6.20.
  • Ability to import and export projects in the OpenTimelineIO format in the Kdenlive video editor.
  • Option to disable support for the LVFS directory during installation for BIOS
