STC IT ROSA has published the ROSA Fresh 13.1 distribution, built on the rosa 13 platform. The distribution is freely distributed and developed with community participation. The release is aimed at a wide range of users and will become the basis of the corporate distribution kit ROSA Chrome 13. Assemblies with KDE (4 GB) and GNOME (4 GB) desktops for x86_64 architecture are available for download. The repository contains packages for the aarch64, e2kv4, i686, loongarch64, riscv64 and x86_64 architectures.
Among the changes in the new version:
- The drivers have been updated and automatic correction of ACPI tables has been implemented, which eliminated problems with sound, touchpads, Wi-Fi and screen that occurred on some laptop models, such as the Xiaomi MiBook 14 and MacBook based on Intel CPU.
- Added support for WSD/eSCL technologies for the operation of printers, scanners and MFPs without manually installing drivers. The HPLIP interface for setting up printers and MFPs from HP has been Russified.
- The support for the Baikal-M platforms has been improved.
- The operating logic of the “Traffic Light” update installation utility has been updated, which now does not offer to start updating if the laptop battery charge is below 40%. Added notifications about the need to reboot after updating some system components. Implemented an option to automatically turn off after updates are completed. Installation of the appropriate version of NVIDIA drivers through the graphical interface is ensured.
- The desktop environment has been updated to the KDE Plasma 6.4 branch. The default is to continue to use an X11-based session, and Wayland support is available as an option. You can install KDE Plasma 5.27 from the repository. Mesa 25.1.8, Chromium 142, Thunderbird 140 and the MosTech.Office office suite based on LibreOffice have been updated.
- The “Packages” application manager (dnfdragora) now displays screenshots. Descriptions of popular packages have been translated into Russian.
- Ready-made modules for using the ZFS file system are available in the repository.
- For external media, a transition has been made to the ntfs3 driver and exfat-progs utilities.
- Installation on existing software RAID arrays has been improved and automatic disk partitioning during installation has been improved. Added the ability to install via PXE on devices with a small amount of RAM with mounting the system image over the network via CIFS or NFS.
- Within one session, repeated password requests for private SSH keys are eliminated (the password is now requested once).
- Updated versions of PostgreSQL 18 (the repository also contains branches 15, 16, 17), Node.JS 24, Python 3.11 (you can install 3.12 from the repository), Kubernetes 1.34, Podman 5.5, Docker 27.5, cri-tools 1.34, Kea DHCP server 3.1, Vector 0.50 logging system, Consul 1.20, syslog-ng 4.8.1, rsyslog 8.25 and audit 4.0.2.
- It is possible to replace the OS logo and build branded products based on the ROSA repository.
