11 TLS Certificate Domain Verification Methods Obsolete

The CA/Browser Forum Association, which serves as a platform for joint decision-making taking into account the interests of browser manufacturers and certification authorities, approved new requirements for organizations issuing certificates for HTTPS. The new requirements deprecate 11 methods for verifying ownership of the domain for which a certificate is issued. Legacy support will be phased out in stages until March 2028. The reasons for discontinuing support include a focus on automatically executed and cryptographically verifiable verification methods.
