Linux Usage on Pornhub Jumps 22.4% to 6.3%

Pornhub, ranked as the 21st most popular website in the world, has published its 2025 report. According to the disclosed statistics, the share of Linux among users of desktop operating systems increased over the year from 5.1% to 6.2%, respectively, representing a 22.4% annual increase in Linux users. Comparatively, the share of Linux users in Wikipedia is 5.5% (up from 4.2% a year ago), in the games catalog Steam is 3.2% (up from 2.08% a year ago), as per w3schools.com is 3.8% (down from 4.1% a year ago), and according to statcounter.com is 3.05% (down from 4.45% a year ago).


As for browsers, Chrome leads on desktop systems with 56.9%, followed by Safari at 13.3%, and Edge at 12.2%. Firefox holds 8.4% and Opera takes 7%. On mobile systems, Firefox has a 0.7% share (an increase of 5.3% from a year ago), while Chrome dominates with 68.6% market share and Safari follows with 23.1%.
