Presented is the release of the distribution kit MiniOS 5.1.0, based on Debian 13 “Trixie” and working directly from a USB drive. The graphical environment is based on Xfce. The distribution uses a modular architecture that allows you to create specialized configurations, excluding and adding components to adapt the system to specific tasks. The release is available in three editions:
- Standard (amd64, 812 MB) – a compact assembly for everyday tasks. It is characterized by high performance and a laconic interface. Includes a web browser, file manager, text editor, archiver, multimedia capabilities and specialized MiniOS utilities for system installation, configuration, module management and working with drives.

- Toolbox (amd64, 1.12 GB) is a specialized Linux distribution for maintaining, diagnosing and restoring computer systems. Contains tools for disk management, network diagnostics, data security, system testing, support for various file systems and virtualization. Designed for system administrators and technical specialists.

- Ultra (amd64, 1.66 GB) – an expanded set of software tools designed for both maintenance and diagnostics of computer systems, and for solving a wide range of office tasks. Includes all the features of Toolbox plus an office suite, multimedia applications for working with graphics, audio and video, as well as containerization tools. title=”” border=”0″>
The most important changes:
- Switched from PulseAudio to PipeWire, which provided modern management of audio and video streams, improved compatibility with Bluetooth devices and low output latencies audio.
- The use of the SYSLINUX bootloader has returned and compatibility with Ventoy, a toolkit for creating bootable USB media, has been restored. The boot menu is localized into many languages, including Russian.
- Implemented automatic system configuration at startup:
- Added automatic detection and application of the keyboard layout in X11 based on kernel parameters;
- Implemented automatic setting of the time zone at boot;
- Optimized the operation of initialization scripts (live-config) to speed up startup.
