Introduced release of a specialized distribution Tails 7.1 (The Amnesic Incognito Live System), developed as part of the Tor project. The distribution is based on the Debian 13 package base, comes with the GNOME 48 desktop and is designed for anonymous Internet access using the Tor toolkit. All connections other than traffic through the Tor network are blocked by the packet filter by default. Encryption is applied when saving user data between runs. An iso image has been prepared for downloading, capable of working in Live mode, 2 GB in size.
In new version:
- As the home page in the Tor Browser instead of an external page loaded from the site Tails, a local page is involved, reminiscent of the standard Tor Browser home page.
- Password input dialog before launch applications that require administrator rights now separately inform the user that the administrator password was not set on the login page (Welcome Screen).
- Tor Browser versions have been updated 14.5.8, Thunderbird 140.3.0 and Tor toolkit 0.4.8.19.
- The ifupdown package has been removed.
