After a year of development, published release of the music player Qmmp 2.3. The player includes two interfaces: “simple”, using standard elements, and “classic”, which copies the Xmms/Winamp/Audacious interface. OSS4 (FreeBSD), ALSA (Linux), Pulse Audio, JACK, QtMultimedia, Icecast, WaveOut (Win32), DirectSound (Win32) and WASAPI (Win32) can be used for audio output. The code is written in C++ using the Qt library and distributed under the GPLv2 license. Ready-made packages generated for Ubuntu. In parallel, released a set of additional modules Qmmp Plugin Pack 2.3, which added experimental support mpv.
Among the changes:
- Project development has been completely transferred to Qt6 (Qt5 support remains in the 1.7.x branch, for which only bug fixes are planned);
- Smooth scrolling of playlists has been implemented;
- Added hotkeys for fast forwarding to 10/30/60 seconds;
- In the simple user interface, it is now possible to edit the status bar;
- In the “classic” interface, the option to select a random cover every time the program is launched and the ability to change the path for installing covers;
- By default, the MPG123 decoder is enabled (MAD support saved);
- Added auto-selection of encoding depending on the system locale for ID3v1 tags;
- Added support for ID3v2 tags for PCM WAVE files;
- Outdated mplayer and modules have been moved to Qmmp Plugin Pack mms;
- The grouping in the playlist has been improved, making it possible to display the playback duration of the entire group;
- When playback is stopped, the stream name is reset to its original state;
- The interface of some modules has been changed;
- The interface translation into Russian has been updated language;
- Packages for Ubuntu have been prepared.
