Apple Releases macOS 26.0 Kernel Code, Open Source

Apple publishes macOS 26.0 system components code

Apple has published the original code of low-level system components of the macOS 26.0 operating system (Tahoe) that utilize free software, including Darwin components, non-GUI components, programs, and libraries. A total of 171 source packages have been released.

Versions have been updated compared to macOS 15 packages:

Among other available code of the XNU kernel, the source code is published in the form of code snippets associated with the next macOS release. XNU is part of the open source Darwin project and is a hybrid kernel combining the Mach kernel, components from the FreeBSD project, and the IOKit C++ API for writing drivers.
