Oracle has published a corrective release of the virtualization system VirtualBox 7.2.4, which eliminates 8 vulnerabilities, details of which have not yet been disclosed. It is only indicated that the most serious problem has a severity level of 8.2 out of 10. In addition to vulnerabilities, the new version introduces 6 changes:
- In additions for guest systems and Linux host environments now have initial support for the Linux 6.18 kernel.
- Additions for Linux guests have been patched to support kernel packages from RHEL 9.6 and 9.7.
- Additions for Windows guests have fixed issues that occur when installing on guest environment of Windows XP SP2.
- Fixed crash of the virtual machine manager when returning the host environment from sleep mode.
- Fixed problems in the address translator that occurred when using multiple port forwarding rules.
