Pale Moon 33.9.0 Browser Released

Pale Moon 33.9.0, a release of the web browser branching from the Firefox code base, has been published. The browser aims to provide higher efficiency, maintain a classic interface, minimize memory consumption, and offer additional setting opportunities. Pale Moon assemblies are available for Windows and Linux (x86_64). The project code is distributed under the MPLv2 (Mozilla Public License).

The browser adheres to the classic interface organization, avoiding the transition to Firefox 29 and 57 Australis and PhoTon interfaces, while providing extensive customization capabilities. Some of the notable components include DRM, Social API, WebRTC, PDF examiner, Crash Reporter, statistics collection, parental controls, and accessibility features. Compared to Firefox, Pale Moon brings back support for Xul extensions and offers the option to use both full-fledged and lightweight versions.

The main changes in this release include the implementation of keywords revers and clip in CSS, the addition of the CSS function color-mix, support for “@supports (Selector ())”, and “Overflow-Block”. Additionally, CSS-Pseudoles “: Autofill” and “: Focus-Visible” have been added, along with compliance with ECMAScript 6.1.

Furthermore, the Pale Moon project has launched its own publicly available DNS Resolvers at 5.189.164.139 and 80.255.7.132, as well as the Time.palemoon.org NTP server for time synchronization. The project assures that logs are not saved in these services and requests are not censored.
