Firefox Ends Support for 32-Bit Linux Systems

Mozilla has announced the termination of support for 32-bit Linux systems starting with the release of Firefox 145, scheduled for November 11, 2025. The decision comes as the support of Firefox on 32-bit platforms is becoming more complicated and unreliable, despite the fact that support for 32-bit assemblies has already been discontinued in most Linux distributions.

Users of 32-bit Linux systems are encouraged to switch to 64-bit operating systems. For those who are unable to quickly update their distribution, they can use the Firefox 140 ESR version, which will receive security updates until at least September of the following year. Chrome discontinued support for 32-bit Linux systems in 2016.
