Linux Mint 22.2 Release
Linux Mint has announced the release of version 22.2, continuing its development based on Ubuntu package branch 24.04 LTS. While the distribution remains compatible with Ubuntu, it offers a different user interface organization and default application selection. Linux Mint developers provide a desktop experience that follows traditional desktop design principles, catering to users who prefer a more familiar interface over the newer GNOME 3 approach. The distribution is available with MATE, Cinnamon, and XFCE desktop environments.
