A new release of the set of Internet applications SeaMonkey 2.53.21 has been published, bringing together a web browser, email client, NNTP conference client, news feed aggregator (RSS/atom), and Wysiwyg HTML page editor Composer. It also includes preinstalled additions such as the IRC client Chatzilla, tools for web developers DOM Inspector, and the Lightning Calendar Planning Calendar. This new release has incorporated fixes and changes from the latest Firefox code base, as SeaMonkey 2.53 is based on Firefox browser engine version 60.8, with ported security fixes and improvements from the current Firefox branches.
Some changes in the new version of SeaMonkey 2.53.21 include:
- In Chatzilla, the menu has been regrouped, the logic of hiding elements has been redesigned, the user list has been improved, unused code has been cleaned, and the operation of the plugin installation dialog has been fixed.
- In Composer, the addition of the Moz-Do-Not-SEND attribute to links and images has been provided.
- A combination of Ctrl+U keys has been added in the email client to highlight text when composing a message.
- A context menu has been implemented for finding a highlighted phrase in the message composition interface or in the Composer window.
