Network Security Toolkit Version 42 Released
The latest version of NST 42 (Network Security Toolkit) has been designed to analyze network security and track its functioning. The loading size of the ISO-image (x86_64) is 5 GB. A special repository has been prepared for Fedora Linux users, allowing the installation of all systems created as part of the NST project. The distribution is based on Fedora and allows the installation of additional packages from external repositories compatible with Fedora Linux.
The distribution includes a wide selection of applications related to network security, such as Wireshark, NTOP, Nessus, Snort, NMAP, KISMET, and more. A special web interface has been prepared for managing security and automating calls for various utilities, including a Web-Frontend integrated with the WireShark network analyzer. The graphic environment of the distribution is based on FLUXBOX.
In the new issue, the following updates have been made:
- The package base is synchronized with Fedora 42 and includes the Linux 6.14 core. Updated versions of security checking applications are included.
- Integrated DPI tools (Deep Packet Inspection) based on the package from ntop. Graph generation utilizes the rgraph library.
- The package ntopng has been configured to run in a Docker container.
- A network performance testing page has been added to the web interface using libreded.
- The ability to launch a container with a visual development environment using node-red has been included.
