Recently, the distribution of OpenWrt 24.10.2 took place. This distribution is specifically developed for network devices such as routers, switches, and access points. OpenWrt supports 2771 devices and offers system assemblies that simplify cross-compilation and allow users to create their own firmware with customized packages optimized for specific tasks. Ready assemblies for 39 target platforms have been published.
The main changes in OpenWrt 24.10.2 include:
- Added devices:
- BCM27XX: Raspberry Pi 5, Raspberry P 500, and Raspberry Pi CM5.
- MediaTek: ASUS RT-AX52, CUDY WR3000/WR3000H, Mercusys MR80X V3, Routerich AX3000 V1, TP-LINK Archer AX80V1, WAVLINK WL-WN57HX3.
- Ramips: Arcadyan We410443 and Xiaomi Miwifi 3a.
- ath79: TP-Link Archer C6 v2.
- For Teltonika Rutx50 (IPQ40xx) devices, the default modem has been updated.
- On the BCM27XX platform, the BRCMSTB I2C driver has been implemented and the existing SDHOST driver is involved. Issues with devices like Extreme Networks AP3935, Genexis EX40, Nanopi R6C/R6S have been addressed.
- Drivers for various components such as Broadcom Netxtreme-C/E, Designware i2c, Designware Spi, Huawei Hinic, and Microchip Enc28J60 SPI Ethernet have been added.
- Various kernel modules for the system have been updated along with the core package and code base.
