Nate Graham, a developer engaged in quality control in the KDE project, published the latest report on the development of KDE. The report highlights some significant changes:
- In the KDE Plasma 6.3.6 corrective update, Adaptive Sync (VRR) has been disabled by default for new installations. This feature, which adjusts the monitor update frequency to ensure smoothness during gaming and video playback, was disabled due to a high number of issues caused by graphic driver errors. The update also addresses the issue of Kwin crashing when multiple screens are connected via KVM connections.
- The code base for the upcoming KDE Plasma 6.5 release has introduced support for dynamic desktop wallpapers that change based on the time of day. This feature aims to automatically switch between light and dark wallpapers depending on the time of day. The interface for previewing dynamic wallpapers has been enhanced, with light and dark versions marked with special icons.
- The Sticky Note widget interface has been significantly improved with added features such as resizing, changing background color via the context menu, and setting a transparent background.
