Apple has released the source code for low-level system components of the operating system MacOS 15.5 (sequoia). This release includes free software components of Darwin, as well as programs, libraries, and components not related to the GUI. A total of 171 packages with source code have been made available.
One notable component that is now accessible is the code for XNU, the core nucleus of MacOS. The source code for XNU, which is part of the Darwin open project, has been released in the form of code snippets related to the upcoming MacOS release. XNU is a hybrid core that combines the Mach core with components from FreeBSD and the C++ API IOKIT project for driver development.
Furthermore, Apple has also published open components used in the iOS mobile platform version 18.5. This publication includes two packages, namely -webkit and libiconv.
