APT 3.1.0 Package Manager Released

Debian’s experimental branch of the package management tool, Apt 3.1.0, has been updated with new features and improvements. This release paves the way for the upcoming stable release, Apt 3.2.

Some of the key new features in Apt 3.1.0 include:

  • Added new commands “Apt Who” and “Apt Why-Not”.
  • Include and Exclude options in .sources files to load specific packages from repositories or exclude certain packages.
  • Support for HTTPS.
  • For Ubuntu, Solver3 dependencies are included by default in the command line utilities, improving conflict resolution.
