Available is the release of the email client Thunderbird 139.0, developed by community forces and based on Mozilla technology. Thunderbird 142 is built on the Firefox 142 code base and is attributed to intermediate versions, with updates produced until the next issue. In ESR-leggings with long-term support, updates are produced within a year, with issues formed including 128.14.0 and Thunderbird 140.2.0.
Key changes in Thunderbird 142:
- The ability to add visual marks/signatures (Visual Signature) to PDF documents.
- The function of copying folders on a mail server or local system has been included.
- A ‘Reset Folder Order’ button has been added to the panel with mail folders to reset manual folder parameters.
- Sound notifications are now provided with an active common system mode called “Do not disturb”.
- Newsgroups are now added by default in alphabetical order.
- There have been 11 vulnerabilities identified, 9 of which are marked as dangerous. For example, one issue allows bypassing Sandbox isolation, and 7 vulnerabilities could potentially lead to code execution when processing certain content.
